If you want to try to find something cheaper, you can elect to find a hotel near the Mall of America, and just take the light rail train back and forth for the Summit. This is *not* recommended, as you’ll be pretty far away from all of us. But if you are working on a budget, can find a supercheap hotel in the Mall of America area, and don’t mind working the 25 minute train ride (each way) into downtown, it’s an option. I’d suggest, if you go this route, to pull up a map and see exactly how far the hotel is from the Mall of America where the light rail stop is.
DORM HOUSING IS NOW CLOSED. Housing form is now up! You must complete the housing form and pay for your rooms by Friday, July 1.
We have reserved 100 rooms, 50 singles and 50 doubles, for 4 nights (August 3rd through August 7th). The rooms will have bed linens and fresh towel changes but no other ‘hotel’ services, and also some shared bathrooms. Singles will be $25.15/night. Doubles will be $21/night per person. Middlebrook Hall is approximately a 15 minute walk from the primary Summit headquarters/activities and there are also city buses that will get you closer – more details about that as we get closer to actual Summit.
Special thanks to Asian American studies at the University of Minnesota and Juliana Hu Pegues for working so hard on getting us affordable housing for Summit.
